At the beginning of the academic year 2015-2016 and on December 21st 2015, Physics Department of School of Science Education hosted an induction day to welcome new undergraduate students. A group of academic staff (Dr. Fuad Arif, Mr. Rawand H. Abdullah, Mr. Hazhar A. Rasul and Mrs. Sazan Muhammad) with a group of junior students (Miss. Berivan Juma, Mr. Shorsh Ibrahim and Miss. Rozhgar Ahmed) were volunteered to arrange the event. This committee invited 78 incoming first-year major for an informal reception where they met academic staff of the deparment and current students. Perhaps even most importantly, the event gave the incoming Physics undergraduate students the opportunity to meet each other.

During the event, a seminar were presented by the academic group. This helped fresher students learn about our history, mission, and values. They understood their major and degree requirements. Moreover, they discovered services and activities to help them grow and develop. In addition, refreshments were provided for the students. It is worth mentioning that the event was arranged by personal efforts and finance support of the group members mentioned above. Overall, the event was a great way for these ambitious and accomplished students to start the year.
